Three wonderful weekends of KPA fun

I have so much fun with Karen Pryor Academy people.

A few weeks ago, I was in Oakland at the Association of Pet Dog Trainers conference and had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with approximately thirty Karen Pryor Academy friends. A dynamic group of trainers (and very accomplished, goodness!) surrounded me at the Karen Pryor Academy dinner for good conversation and unbeatable networking opportunities. It was a wonderful experience to be able to meet so many KPA folks from the West coast, trainers I’ve never had the pleasure of spending time with previously.

Upon returning from the conference, I had two weekends of Karen Pryor Academy workshops to look forward to. Last weekend we welcomed five future CTP to Clicking with Canines for their first workshop. I had a great time with Audrey, Andre, Elizabeth, Ellen, and Jeff and their delightful doggies. They are an exceptionally talented group, and I very much look forward to the opportunity to watch them develop as they progress through the program.

This weekend we welcomed back Marion (and her Bichon Lenny) and Russ (with the German Shepherd Joseph who he is raising for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Both Marion and Russ had obviously put a lot of work into preparing for the workshops and were a joy to watch, work with, and learn from.

I know Marion and Russ are probably going crazy tonight – it’s hard to wait on word from the Academy regarding your final scores! I will tell you that the results come back surprisingly quickly, so you will not be in the dark for long. Additionally, I will tell you that I was very tempted to sabotage you and your pooches because I will miss all four of you so much it is bittersweet to say goodbye and congratulations to you. I hope you all travel home safely, and look forward to sitting down with you and other KPA folks at future dinners, ClickerExpo, and conferences.
