Welcome the Newest Addition to the RBDT Family!

No, I’m not getting another dog. No, Jim and I aren’t having a baby. Yes, we are adding a new, amazing trainer to the team at Rewarding Behaviors!

New RBDT Trainer Paula Lightfoote with her rescued Pibble, Earl!

It is my great pleasure to welcome recent Karen Pryor Academy graduate Paula Lightfoote to the team at Rewarding Behaviors. Paula originally came to me as a client for help with her lovely pit bull Earl. Dedicated owner that she is, she drove from Rochester for our private lessons, despite the fact that I was more than happy to recommend very capable trainers in her area.

Paula liked clicker training so much, she began teaching clicker puppy classes at BoomTowne Canine Campus, a beautiful facility in Farmington, NY. She then applied for, and was accepted, into the KPA program. Paula just received notification that she passed all of her final assessments this past weekend to earn the title “KPA CTP” (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner).

Starting in September, Paula will be traveling to Binghamton to work at our facility on weekends, and will be relocating to the area to work at our facility full time later this year. This September, Paula will be assisting in our foundations classes and offering puppy play socialization hours at our Endicott facility.

Paula and I have already been busy at work planning a variety of new and exciting services for returning and new clients alike. Stay tuned for further details on our new group and private training services.

The fabulous Ms. Lightfoote will be joining us on the RBDT blog shortly to share with you training tips, new services, and to introduce herself and Mr. Earlybird.

I’d like to invite all of you to our first ever Open House at the facility on Saturday, September 17th, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. This is a “humans only” event, so please leave your dogs at home. This is your chance to tour our facility, meet the trainers, learn more about the type of training we do, practice a bit of clicker training yourself, and participate in a variety of fun games and earn prizes! Need directions? Click here. Admission is free, members of the general public as well as past and present clients are welcome to attend. See you then!
